Mike Nankivell strikes gold at RAC Cooling Industry Awards
Mike Nankivell has been honoured for his outstanding work in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry. The RAC Cooling Industry Awards ‘Gold Award’ recognises and rewards those who have made a significant impact on the industry and helped to drive its environmental progress.
Mike has worked in the HVAC industry for over 45 years and, despite ‘retiring’ at the end of 2015, has continued his involvement with a host of committees, subgroups and key industry initiatives, giving up his time to help further a host of important causes.
During his time in the industry Mike has taken on the Presidency of HEVAC and been Chairman of the ACRIB F-GAS implementation group. Mike was also the FETA Chairman during its 30th anniversary year and is currently the President of the Heat Pump Association (HPA).
After completing an apprenticeship in 1971, Mike joined the HVAC industry as a contract detail/design draughtsman, going on to work as a designer of perimeter heating systems, contract and commercial and general management in acoustics, fan and air handling unit manufacture.
Russell Beattie, Chief Executive of FETA, commented: “Mike has made an enormous contribution to the industry and richly deserves to be recognised in this way. He has gained and retained the confidence of key Government players by his ability to provide professional and, above all, objective advice and is a key ‘go to’ figure for them. I congratulate him on winning this well-deserved accolade.”
