FETA shows support for World Refrigeration Day
The first ever World Refrigeration Day took place on 26th June and FETA demonstrated its full support for the inaugural event by participating in a refrigeration themed seminar at the Temperature Controlled Storage and Distribution show (TCS&D).
Taking place on the same date, the TCS&D show promotes innovation and technology in the perishable product supply chain and this year played host to a series of workshops and live-streamed seminars involving The Institute of Refrigeration (IoR) and the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Industry Board (ACRIB).
Joining the World Refrigeration Day celebrations, FETA Chief Executive Russell Beattie reminded delegates at the Peterborough based event, as well as those viewing online, of the important role refrigeration plays in all of our lives – from transport and food storage to catering and pharmaceutical applications. Supported by multiple trade associations and professional bodies, the seminar sessions were also used to promote careers in the industry and highlight the online educational tools that can be accessed by youngsters with an interest in cooling.
Russell Beattie commented, “FETA are proud to have contributed to the success of the first ever World Refrigeration Day and look forward to supporting this annual event in the years to come. It is important that we recognise the achievements of those working in the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump sectors and promote the industry to the next generation of engineers.”
World Refrigeration Day will take place on 26th June every year.
