ADCAS marks 20 years as the voice of the ductwork industry
ADCAS, the Association of Ductwork Contractors and Allied Services, is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
As part of the celebrations, ADCAS will be hosting a Thames Dinner Cruise on the 29th June. Guests will enjoy a sumptuous three course meal while they take in outstanding views of famous London landmarks.
In 1997 a group of ductwork contractors got together to discuss the possibility of forming their own trade association. These likeminded individuals strongly believed that the interests of the industry would be better served through the establishment of a new association.
From the outset it was clear that many in the industry believed that a strong, independent voice was needed in order to help develop a specific identity. Associate members, or suppliers to the ductwork industry, were invited to join from the very beginning, giving the group a significant presence in the UK market.
The first President, Michael Ohly, was instrumental in bringing everyone together to establish the key aims and objectives of the newly formed association, setting up a meeting in 1997 that was attended by the majority of UK ductwork contractors.
In the 20 years since then, every serving President has brought their own ideas and experiences to the role, ensuring that the organisation continues to evolve and adapt to changes within the industry.
The ADCAS of today continues to pursue the interests of its members, promoting them to the wider construction industry, bringing member companies together to discuss industry issues, liaising with government on legislation and other issues, working with relevant industry organisations and ultimately promoting the highest standards in the design, specification and installation of ductwork.
Current President Malcolm Moss commented, “I would like to thank past presidents Michael Ohly, Ray Dennis, Alan Bryan, Paul Adlam, Paul Roxburgh and the executive and associate committee members who have worked incredibly hard to grow the ductwork industry and establish ADCAS as its voice. ADCAS continues to go from strength to strength and I look forward to joining the rest of the industry on 29th June to celebrate our 20th year in style.”
